Two men and a lighthouse – Lighthouse at Stora Bält by Anton Melbye

Lighthouse at Stora Bält by Anton Melbye

Swell brings life to the lighthouse’s dark landscape. Far off, the sombre melody of a cello speaks in notes the fishermen’s thoughts.

Trapped in the tower overlooking the agitated sea, two men play their sorrows endlessly. The sun bids adieu to the scene to let a trail of grey clouds invade the sky. The waves break against the rocks surrounding the lighthouse, drenching the nearby seagulls with cold froth.

Nothing will disturb the night from menacing the only two souls with chaos. Both will keep their eyes wide open, rocking their hearts to the sound of a cello, preventing their thoughts from sinking and losing themselves into the depths of the sea.
